New Project!

I'm so excited that I can finally announce my next project! I've joined the cast of the AMC Pilot "Low Winter Sun." It's based on the British miniseries of the same name. I play the assistant to the Leiutenant in the Precinct. You can read more about the project here:

We shoot next month in Detroit, then wait to hear if it gets picked up and see if we get to make more episodes next year.

I'll post more updates soon!

August Contest!!

WAzzzup?! I've been working on my new Facebook page, which means I'm slowly going to faze out my profile, which I have a lot of fans on. SO, I figured I'd do something fun to help get the awareness out of my new page.

In my official store ( officialkimberlyjbrown.miiduu.com ) I have some personally autographed photos for sale. IF you "Like" my new page by the end of August, you'll be added to a drawing to WIN a free autographed pic from my store-and YOU get to pick which one you want.

Easy enough right? Just go LIKE my page at: www.Facebook.com/OfficialKimberlyJBrown, and you'll be automatically entered! I'll announce the winner in the beginning of September here on my site and on my Facebook page.

If you've already "liked" my Facebook page, don't worry, your names are already in the drawing, because I appreciate you too!

If you don't win this time, don't worry, I'll be doing more stuff like this, because I like to give away free stuff, and I'm sure you like free stuff too, right? :-)

In the meantime, I hope you guys are enjoying the end of summer. I'm gearing up for a busy fall. I'll be hopefully able to talk about a new project very soon, and I'm getting married!

So heres to a fabulous Fall!

Talk to you soon,

The Book of Awakening-Today's Excerpt

One fact about me that you probably don't know is that I'm a voracious reader and think of the bookstore like what Toys R Us is to a child. I was sort of one of those semi-nerds growing up who probably wanted to spend more money on books than clothing. Even now, my office has a stack of books that call out to me everytime I pass by. Sadly, I don't get to read as often as I like, but one book that I'm currently enjoying is "The Book of Awakening" by Mark Nepo. It's a collection of daily inspiration...it gives you a page or two to read every day and think about, which I love.

Today's subject really hit home with me so I wanted to share it with you. It's called "The Pain of Becoming" and basically discusses how we can judge and be hard on ourselves as we take each step towards reaching a goal. In today's world especially, it's allllll about instant gratification. We want and tell ourselves we need to get there NOW. As a result, we can be unfairly harsh or judgmental as we take our normal, human steps to get there.

I can say for sure that I have been guilty of this many times in the past. MANY. Did I say many? I guess that's why I felt so compelled to write about it today after reading it. We should appreciate each step of the metaphorical ladder we are on and know that we are stepping just as we should be. If everything came to us as fast as we wanted it to, wouldn't it take the fun and appreciation out of getting it?

I've put an excerpt of today's page from the book up here so you can see it directly from Mark Nepo himself. Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear your comments!

More New Pics!!

I wanted to share with you guys some more new pics from my shoot with Hendershott Photography. It's really weird looking through over 200 pictures of yourself. You start to notice things you never did before....annnnddd then you just can't look anymore, lol.

I have to say that The Hendershotts made the shoot so relaxing and fun that I didn't want to leave! During some photo shoots in the past, it's been more of a process and I couldn't wait to be done, but not with these guys. It did help that Adam and I knew each other from the horror feature "Big Bad Wolf," but even if we hadn't I would have felt the same comfortability and fun that I did that day.

If you're an actor, I highly recommend them for headshots, but they also do editorial and all kinds of photography...Check them out! www.TheHendershotts.com

And, as promised, here are some more pics that you'll be seeing more of soon!

Talk to you soon!
